TG4 est de retour avec la sortie de leur 2e album cette année 2004 ! TG4 est un groupe formé en 2001, à la base par 4 filles : Ambee, Ashley, Davida et Keisha et signées par T.UG. (le label de B2K) et Interscope. En 2002, elles sortent leur premier single "Virginty" qui ne se hissent qu'à la 88e place des R&B Charts ! Elles font 2 apparitions sur 2 albums de B2K et leur album "Times For The New" sort en novembre 2002 en Promo Advance. Mais le succès n'étant pas vraiment au rendez-vous, et sans même leur laisser une seconde chance, leur contrat est rompu début 2003 ! Ce drame est suivit par le depart de Davida, qui jouait parrallelement dans la série Lizzie McGuire et qui décide de se consacré à sa carrière d'actrice. Ambee, Ashley et Keisha décident malgrès tout de rester ensemble, de changer la signification de leur nom (TG4 signifiait Tom Girls 4... il signifie désormais Tom Girls 4eva) et de se chercher un nouveau label. Ils le trouvent en septembre 2003, il s'agit de "Soul Chemistry", le label de Shawn Stockman (de Boyz II Men)... Aujourdhui les filles sont de retour dans les studios et s'apprêtent à sortir leur 2e album (le 1er qui sera réellement comercialisé) cette année !

TG4 is back with a new album to be released in 2004 ! This group was formed in 2001 with 4 singers : Ambee, Ashley, Davida and Keisha, and they were signed to T.U.G (B2K) and Interscope. In 2002 they released their debut single "Virginity" (which only reach the 88th spot on the R&B singles charts) ; they appeared on 2 B2K's tracks ; and they released their album "Times For The New" as an Advance Promo CD in november. Early 2003, because of the lack of success and without giving them any 2nd chance, they were dropped from their record company ! Soon after, Davida decided to leave to concentrates on her acting career (she plays in Lizzie McGuire)... But the 3 remains girls decided to stay together and change the meaning of their name from "Tom Girls 4" to "Tom Girls 4eva". In september 2003 they signed a new deal with "Soul Chemistry" the label of Shawn Stockman (of Boyz II Men) and they are ready to release their new album this year !

XSO Drive c'est l'histoire d'un groupe qui ressemble beaucoup à Tha' Rayne : 3 chanteuses solo réunies par un mentor en 2000 et ayant multiplié les collaborations depuis... Les 3 chanteuses de XSO Drive (Chantel, Jaz-Ming et Kisa) étaient toutes les 3 signées par des labels en tant qu'artistes solos en 1999, et c'est à ce titres qu'elles ont bossé avec Trackmasters (Poke & Tone). Un an après Poke & Tone ont eut l'idée de monter un groupe... ils ont alors fait appelle à ces 3 chanteuses dont la carrière ne décollait pas... et ils en on fait un trio ! Depuis elles ont fait des tas de featurings et elles ont été signées chez Epic. En aout 2003 est sorti leur premier single "Can I Get It Back" en vynil seulement. Le titre est ensuite apparu sur la BO de "You Got Served" et aujourd'hui elles s'apprêtent à sortir bientot leur album !

XSO Drive is the story of a girl group that really look like the story of Tha' Rayne : 3 solo singers put together by a super-producer in 2000 and who did a lot of collaborations since. The 3 singers from XSO Drive (Chantel, Jaz-Mind & Kisa) were all signed to a label as a solo act back in 1999 and they all worked with the Trackmasters (Poke & Tone). A year later Poke & Tone had the idea of maka a band and they put this 3 singers whose career was under development together to give birth to XSO Drive. The group did a lot of collaborations since this date and is now signed to Epic. In August 2003 they released their first street single "Can I Get It Back", which recently appeared on the "You Got Served" soundtrack. Today they are ready to release their first commercial single and their debut album.

2003 - Can I Get It Back - download

Smooth est une chanteuse (et rappeuse) qui a du mal à faire son come-back. Elle a déjà à son actif : 3 albums (en 1993, 95 et 98) avec des tubes comme "Female Mac", "Mind Blowin" ou "Strawberries". Elle était à l'époque chez Jive... mais entre temps son petit frère se faisait un nom dans la production, en découvrant Brandy, et en montant son label : T.U.G (Imx, Marques Houston, B2K, Jhene, TG4, etc...) : il s'agit de Chris Stokes. Aujourd'hui Smooth a donc trouvé une maison de disque toute désignée : celle de son frère... c'est pas pour autant que tout est facile : En 2002 elle décide de changer de nom et devient NEEDA-S (de son vrai nom : Needa Stokes). En février 2003, Needa-S sort le single sensé marquer son nouveau debut : "Sensitive" (feat. Da Brat), mais il passe grave inaperçu. Alors en juillet 2003, elle re-tente le coup avec un nouveau single "Baby's Mama" (feat. Marques Houston), un titre soullfull vraiment excellentissime mais qui malheureusement fait peu de bruit aussi... Finalement, elle se décide à revoir son management et décide alors qu'elle reprendra son nom original : SMOOTH ! Peut-etre qu'elle pense que les radios la passeront plus facilement si elle a déjà un nom connu... bref, la semaine dernière, son tout nouveau single "Zoom" a fait son entrée sur les radios americaines... L'accueil a été très moyen, mais ce n'est que les débuts, les semaines à venir diront si son come-back est enfin réussi... on lui souhaite en tout cas ! Son nouvel album s'appellera "Showdown"

Smooth is a singer and rapper who has many difficulties to make her come-back... She has already 3 albums to her credits (in 1993, 95 & 98) with hit singles like "Female Mac", "Mind Blowin" or "Strawberries". She was signed to Jive... but since this time, her little brother became somebody in the industry ! It's Chris Stockes, who brought to you Brandy, and is now the CEO of TUG Records 'Imx, Marques Houston, B2K, Jhene, etc...). Today, Smooth naturally find a home at her brother's label... but this does not means that's her come-back will be easy... In 2002 she decided to change her name into Needa S. In february 2003, she put down her come-back single "Sinsitive" feat. Da Brat, but the single didn't make a big buzz... So in July 2003 she re-tried with another single called "Baby's Mama" feat. Marques Houston, a really good soulfull single but whose impact wasn't what expected... Finally she decided to take back her original name of Smooth and her new single "Zoom" impacted the radios last week... the song is good but it doesn't seems that this single will grow high into the charts... well let's see and let's hope !

Kim Scott est une jeune chanteuse de 17 ans... que vous connaissez probablement... rappelez-vous ! En 1997, une jeune enfant prodige de 11 ans faisait un debut fracassant avec le tube "Tuck me In" (chez Columbia/Sony), dont le remix était produit par Wyclef ? Puis sortait dans la foulée son album... elle s'appellait Kimberly Scott et participait meme à l'écriture de son album (à 11 ans !!!)... Et bien, Kimberly chante toujours, sous le nom de Kim Scott maintenant... en 2002 elle a sorti son 2e album "Y'all Ain't Ready" mais chez un tout petit label independant... Localement (dans la région ou le label est implanté), l'album a bien marché et les singles "Shake Down" et "Get Krunked" ont été bien reçuent par les DJs du coin... Aujourd'hui elle travaille d'arrache pied pour faire un nouveau come-back cette année !!! Alors preparez vous car avec le temps son talent ne s'est que bonifier !

Paula Campbell est une chanteuse de Baltimore qui a un CV impressionnant puisqu'elle a déjà bossé avec Dru Hill, Blu Cantrell, Tamar Braxton , Choncy Black de Blackstreet , Anthony Dent , Brice Wilson , ou Ruff-Endz... Elle est signée chez "BlackBird Music", un petit label independant a l'echelle americaine, mais bien connu pour les habitants de Baltimore et du Maryland. Elle vient de finir son album, intitulé "Who Got Next ?" Et son single "Take You Home" ne cesse de grimper dans les charts... Il s'agit de son 2e single, le 1er, "How Does It Feel" sorti en mai 2003 était resté 8 semaines à la tete des charts du district de Batimore !
