Dois-je presenter Patti Labelle, cette diva du Funk/R&B, qui fete cette annee ses 60 ans ! Bon aller, vite fait pour les plus jeunes lol... A l'age de 17 ans, elle forme le groupe "The Blue Belles", qui devient tres peu de temps apres "Patti Labelle and The Blue Belles". Le groupe connait son 1er succes en 1962. Elles enchaines les petits tubes discrets durant les année 1960' puis en 1967, une des membres quitte le groupe (pour rejoindre les Supremes). Le trio restant, adopte un nouveau son, une nouvelle image et donc un nouveau nom ! Elles deviennent les "Labelle" et font leur come-back sous ce nom en 1971. 3 ans apres elle sortent un nouvel album et explosent a travers le monde entier, avec le gigantissime tube "Lady Marmalade". Mais le groupe se separe en 1977 et Patti Labelle entamme une carriere solo assez boiteuse, jalonnée de petits tubes et de grand flops. Enfin, en 1984, a 40 ans, le succes lui re-sourit, et elle enchaine tubes sur tubes : "If You only Knew" (84), "New Attitude" (85), "Stir It Up" (85), "On My Own" (86), "Oh People" (86), "Yo Mister" (89), "Feels Like Another One" (91), "Somebody Loves You Baby" (92), "The Right Kinda Lover" (94), et "When You Talk About Love" (97). En 2000, elle a fait un retour plus que remarquer, avec "When A Woman Loves", un album tres Soul/R&B, composé de 12 ballades ecrites par Diana Warren. Elle a recemment été signée par Def Soul et en mai 2004, sortira son nouvel album "Timeless Journey". Elle nous fait la un retour en force, avec un nouveau single tres R&B "A New Day" qui vient d'entrer a la 29e place des charts Urban AC.

15/5/2004 : Patti Labelle a sorti son album il y a quelques jours et c'est un carton plein pour la diva ! L'album est directement rentré 5e des ventes R&B et 18e des ventes tous styles confondu ! It's a big big success for Patti. Her album released few days ago made an impressive impacting into the charts at #5 of the R&B charts and #18 of the Billboard top-200 !
